My son received Educational Psychotherapy from Helen whilst he was in year 5. I cannot express enough how truly amazing the experience was for him. From the very beginning, the support, care, and understanding she showed made a huge difference. The sessions were warm, supportive, and completely tailored to his needs.  He loved going to the sessions.

The therapy helped my son in so many ways—he grew in confidence, developed better coping strategies, and is now able to express himself much more clearly. His progress was remarkable, and I can see how much happier and more settled he feels, both in his learning and in himself. He began to enjoy being at school and was far more able to communicate his needs.

I am so grateful for the positive impact this has had on his life. The transformation has been incredible, and I would highly recommend Helen to any parent or carer who is considering psychotherapy for their child. It has truly been a wonderful and life-changing experience for my son.

Working with Helen was truly transformative for our son. Before meeting her, he was going through a very difficult time at primary school. He was having problems with other students, and feeling misunderstood, and unsupported. As parents, it was incredibly hard to see him losing confidence in himself and becoming increasingly anxious about going to school. He felt like no one really took the time to listen to what he was experiencing.

From the very first meeting, Helen approached him with warmth, patience, and genuine care. She created a safe and supportive space where he felt comfortable opening up about his feelings and experiences. Helen took the time to truly listen, not just to what he said, but to how he felt — and she made him feel respected and valued. This alone made such a difference; he felt like someone was on his side. She also took time to design the sessions to meet his interests, which in turn made him feel even more comfortable to talk and share his feelings.

Over the course of their sessions, we watched him gradually begin to trust again, to talk more freely about what was troubling him, and to explore new ways of coping with difficult situations. Helen helped him build his emotional resilience, improve his self-esteem, and find the words to express himself in a healthy, constructive way. She also worked closely with us as parents, offering guidance and insight that helped us better understand what he was going through and how we could support him at home.

We are deeply grateful for everything Helen has done for our son and for our family. Her compassion, expertise, and dedication made an enormous difference in his life. We would wholeheartedly recommend Helen to any family whose child is struggling emotionally or socially - she has truly helped our son find his voice and regain confidence and gave him a far better primary school experience than he was having prior to meeting her.

When our son started his sessions with Helen, he was overwhelmed by emotions and a deep sense of frustration, which was manifesting in various tics. As parents, we felt helpless watching him struggle, unsure of how to support him in a way that truly helped.

Helen immediately created a space that felt safe and welcoming. There was no pressure, just gentle encouragement and patience. It took time, but slowly our son began to open up. Week by week, trust was built through consistent care, playful interactions, and a deep understanding of his emotional world. As time went on and our son became more settled and able to say how he was feeling which seemed like a massive relief for him. He is now able to talk more easily and recognise his emotions. His tics subsided as did his anxiety. He was far happier at school and much more able to access the learning. We feel like we have our son back.

I cannot recommend Helen highly enough. Our son adored his sessions with her; he wanted to attend every week and loved that she had Lego available to work with. If you are considering any form of counselling or therapy for your child, you won’t do better than working with Helen.

My son was referred to Helen, who was the Educational Psychotherapist attached to his school. He attended 14 sessions with Helen from October 2023 - March 2024. The referral was made as he had an attachment to myself; that was causing conflicts leaving
the house in the mornings and then transferring to his morning routines in school. He would be disengaged, inconsolable, aggravated and sometimes disruptive.

While he was seeing Helen, he knew that the discussions he had with her were private and confidential, it was a safe space to explore new strategies for coping and managing his feelings and he established it very quickly into his weekly routine. While the information discussed was confidential, I knew that if anything should arise that may need to be addressed, Helen would share the relevant information with me, while also accounting for his mental health and discussing it with him first.

She was thorough with her initial investigations into how she could help him. He looked forward to the time with her and would say so weekly. Helen’s ability to tune into my son was nothing short of amazing, she gave both him and myself, strategies to cope and we are still using them now. I  cannot thank her enough for all that she has done for my son, we are forever grateful and would highly recommend her and the service that she provides.
